Upskill in Sydney this autumn with new and enhanced AMC Search training

March 28, 2019

This autumn, AMC Search is offering a packed program of training from the maritime hub of Darling Harbour, Sydney, making it the ideal time to focus on your maritime career.

As well as Australia’s best value STCW refresher program, running throughout the year, space is still available on a range of other brand-new as well as core training courses in the coming months. All courses are run in the maritime hub of Darling Harbour, Sydney, and spaces are limited so do book soon to avoid disappointment.

More about the courses

Free drone seminar

If you’re operating drones or considering using the technology to support your maritime operations, don’t miss our free seminar, “Drones in the maritime industry”, on Thursday 13 April.

The one-hour seminar is presented by drone technologist Dr Joel Spencer, who will discuss the opportunities and legal risks associated with the use of drones.

Management systems for safety and pollution prevention

The ISM code was introduced in the wake of the tragic grounding of the Herald of Free Enterprise in the UK in 1987 to reduce the number of accidents caused by human error.

AMC Search has partnered with Lloyds Register to offer a brand-new course ISM and the Lead Auditor on 30 April. The course is ideal for anyone who has, or may have in the future, duties involving matters of safety and pollution prevention and who wants to develop a good grasp of how management systems can achieve these goals.

Develop the performance of your maritime team

In partnership with Engineering Education Australia, we are offering Developing High Performing Teams on 1 May. A one-day course to help develop the skills required to drive team performance and explore the differences between under performing and high performing teams.

Maritime Security

Appointed security officers have an important role to play in safeguarding vessels, ports and offshore facilities against unlawful interference. From May 14-16, we’re offering the full suite of maritime security courses: Ship Security Officer, Port Security Officer, Offshore Facility Security Officer, Head Security Officer and Company Security Officer.

VTS Supervisor

With Australia’s ports gearing up to handle more and more freight over the next decade, Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) will become increasingly important in order to secure the safety on busier routes.

If you or your colleagues need to make the leap from VTS Operator to VTS Supervisor, our next IALA accredited VTS Supervisor course, taught by maritime communications specialist Jillian Carson-Jackson, starts 20 May.
