Hands-on training in modern marine fire-fighting techniques
The Australian Maritime College Fire Fighting Centre is located at Bell Bay, 40km north of the main Newnham campus.
Staffed by experienced officers and equipped with a wide range of modern fire fighting equipment, the centre is used to provide students with hands-on training in modern marine fire fighting techniques.
Specialised areas provide for fighting liquid and gas fires, fires in helicopters, as well as fires within ships’ superstructures using self-contained breathing apparatus.
Trainees receive both theoretical and practical training at the centre.
AMC Search provides fire fighting training at the fire fighting training centre to marine industry personal in a range of courses. All our AMSA continued competence revalidation and refresher courses include time at the centre.
