Tanker: Advanced Training for Oil Cargo Operations

Advanced Training for Oil Cargo Operations provides participants with an understanding of safe, pollution free oil handling and transportation, and to enable them to supervise and train other personnel in operational procedures. AMSA-approved.

Who should participate?

Designed for Masters, Chief Engineers, Chief Mates, Second Engineer Officers and any person with immediate responsibility for cargo operations (as per IMO STCW Reg. V/1) responsible for loading, discharging and care in transit or handling cargo.

Course Entry Prerequisite

Please note the following prerequisite is for entry onto the course and evidence must be provided upon enrolment:

  • STCW Oil Tanker Familiarisation Certificate, STCW Elementary First Aid and STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting; or
  • STCW Certificate of Competency for International Waters endorsed with Tanker Familiarisation

Certification

The following certificate will be issued by AMC to participants who successfully complete* the course:

  • Advanced Training for Oil Tanker Cargo Operations (AMSA approved), meeting the requirements of STCW Reg V/1-1 and Code Section A-V/1-1, paragraph 2, Table A-V/1-1-2

*100% attendance, full participation and completion of all exercises is required.
