This course provides participants with an overview of water ballast systems on ships. It explains why a ballast system is needed and what the ballast does to allow the ship to be operational. The different parts of the water ballast system are explained and shown to ensure participants have a working knowledge of how ballast is used.

5.  Understand the relationship between loading and discharging cargo and the movement of ballast water
Assessment:An assessment will be provided at the end of the course (fully online), you will have unlimited attempts to achieve the 100% pass mark.
