Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) On the Job Instructor (C0103-4)

Course also known as: On the Job Training Instructor (OJTI), V-103/4

Prepares participants in the theories and skills of on-job-instruction (OJI) with particular focus on coaching, communication and evaluation. Meets the requirements of IALA Model Course C0103-4.

The course is global in scope, and develops in each OJI the ability to successfully direct and evaluate any set of trainee performance results, such as a VTS Centre Certification or a similar set of performance objectives.

Prepares participants in the theories and skills of on-job-instruction with particular focus on coaching, communication and evaluation.

Who should participate?

The course is suitable for Harbour Masters, Assistant Harbour Masters, VTS Supervisors and VTS Operators C0103-1 or C0103-2.

Entry prerequisite

Candidates for On the Job Instructor must be nominated by a VTS provider
who ensure that they demonstrate the relevant experience and aptitude to deliver effective On-the-Job Training.

Certification

The following certificate will be issued by AMC to participants who successfully complete* the course:

  • IALA approved C0103-4 Vessel Traffic Services On the Job Instructor Training

*100% attendance, full participation and completion of all exercises is required.

Face to face courses

Cancellations up to 15 working days prior to the scheduled date will be accepted without penalty. Cancellations less than 15 working days will be subject to 100% cancellation fee.

AMC Search reserves the right to cancel the course 15 working days prior to the scheduled date if insufficient registrations are received. Any fees paid for cancelled courses will be refunded in full.

When making flight bookings please ensure you book on a fully refundable basis.

Online courses

Payment of course fees, or authorisation to invoice from your company, is required before access to the online learning environment is provided. Please note, it will take between 2-4 business days to provide your access to the online course if you have not studied previously with AMC Search, the Australian Maritime College or the University of Tasmania.

Remote Delivery

Delivery is via video conference.
