Demand for STCW refresher training at AMC Search remains strong into 2020.

Demand for STCW refresher training at AMC Search remains strong, with many courses in the first half of the year already booked out.
STCW certificates that were first revalidated in 2014 began to expire in 2019, meaning seafarers were required to complete their two-day refresher training again, with many selecting AMCS as their preferred training provider.
“Demand for our refresher training shows no signs of abating as the second wave of revalidation continues in 2020,” said AMCS Manager of Training Emilie Donovan.
“Many seafarers who originally refreshed their certificates at AMCS in 2014/15 have returned five years later, which is testament to our high-quality courses and world-class training facilities and instructors.”
Based on the Manila amendments to the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers 1978, it is a requirement that seafarers demonstrate continued competency by undertaking refresher training every five years for Certificate of Safety Training, Certificate of Proficiency, Chief Integrated Rating and Certificate of Competency.
AMCS offers Australia’s best value AMSA-approved STCW refresher training, with on-campus, motel-style accommodation in Launceston starting from just $95 per night.
“Due to demand, we have recently added extra courses for all certificate levels to our program in addition to scheduled monthly training,” Donovan said.
The next STCW refresher course with spaces is running 29-30 April.
Remember, do not leave revalidation until the last minute because courses might be booked-out and the lack of a valid ticket will prevent you or your crew from working.
