An MOU has been signed during a virtual Zoom meeting between AMC Search, the training and consultancy division of the Australian Maritime College and Oceanwide Maritime Services Corp., the Cebu based seafarer training provider.

The MOU is the basis of a collaboration between AMC Search and Oceanwide Maritime Services Corp. that will see the two organisations collaborate in the delivery of internationally compliant online training solutions for the Filipino seafaring industry.
AMC Search was an early adopter of developing online training solutions for the maritime industry and has expertise in the delivery of online courses that use interactive 3D animations and gamification teaching techniques that makes training outcomes as good as traditional classroom-based learning.
Many AMC Search online training courses have been approved by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority as being compliant with the training requirements set by international conventions.

“To partner with AMC Search provides Oceanwide with a unique opportunity to work with an organisation that knows how to deliver online training that is world class and compliant with international standards.”
“This is something that will be of immense benefit to Filipino seafarers and not only will they get a world class education it will also make training more convenient and affordable to our seafarers” said Capt. Sevilla.
Mr. Dean Cook, CEO of AMC Search said, “this is a very exciting opportunity for AMC Search and Oceanwide and the signing of this MOU is just the beginning of a collaboration that will help us deliver our training to the most important maritime workforce in the world.”
“The Philippines has a long proud maritime history and to have the opportunity to partner with Oceanwide will help us play our part in making sure Filipino seafarers receive the training they deserve to help keep them safe at sea and to advance their careers” concluded Mr. Cook.
Key areas that will be the focus of the partnership includes STCW and non-STCW online training courses, with the first courses planned to be ready for enrolments within the next couple of months.
