The Australian Maritime College has turned 40 years old this week, and we at AMC Search would like to raise a glass and say congratulations to an organisation that has led the world in maritime education, training and research.

This great work has led to AMC being ranked #1 by the International Association of Maritime Universities for global engagement and research!

To reach that sort of status, AMC has invested in world class facilities, including a 100-metre-long Towing Tank and Model Test Basin for modelling and observing how model-scale vessels react in different conditions.

The AMC Cavitation Laboratory is unique within Australia and is used to test submerged structures such as submarines and ship hulls.

A state-of-the-art Maritime Simulation Centre offers real-time simulation technology for research and training. It includes a full-mission ship's bridge, two tug simulators, six ship operations bridges and an engine room simulator.

AMC are also establishing one of the world's best equipped autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) research facilities, with a fleet of underwater robots for sub-sea and Antarctic exploration.

Well done AMC and follow this link to find out more about its rich 40-year history.
