​​Autonomous Surface Vehicle (ASV) Operator course

The course will leverage AMSL research and resources to deliver training which exposes the students to the breadth of study of maritime autonomous surface vessel aspects. Additional topics of study will include an introduction to legal aspects of autonomous marine transport, the history of marine automation and current effects on the workforce, education, and operational posts. Lastly, safe operation and security (cybersecurity) of ASV operation will be examined.

The  course  will  be  delivered through face-to-face theory lessons followed by practical ‘hands-on’ sessions to provide candidates with optimal learning outcomes.

Outcome

Participants who successfully complete this course will be eligible to receive an Australian Maritime College Certificate in Autonomous Surface Vehicle (ASV) Operator Training.
