For Schools

If you're a secondary school looking to bring industry to your students, AMC are here to help!

As part of a 5 year campaign to Engineer our Future, AMC is dedicated to raising the awareness of the diverse careers students from all academic ability can pursue in the maritime industry.

We are working closely with our alumni (prominent members of the industry) as well as industry supporters who are championing the industry to the next generation.

As we are building an alumni army, we can visit more schools and reach more of today's youth (tomorrow's colleagues) about where their different passions, capabilities and interests can take them within the maritime industry.

We're recruiting AMC Alumni to be part of our largest ever volunteer army.

With over 200 schools interested in learning about the maritime industry, there has never been a better time to volunteer to raise awareness of the careers available, and your specific experience studying at AMC.

No matter where you're located, or which discipline you studied, we'd love to have you register as part of our AMC Army!

We believe that most people who "fall" into the industry and stay, have a true passion for raising the awareness and opportunities that this industry can bring.

FAQs

Time requirement: We're aiming to have volunteers attend 1-2 school visits

WWCC: If you do not currently hold a valid WWCC, we will assist with you obtaining one.

Location: We're working with schools across the nation, and if you have contacts for secondary schools overseas, we'd also be interest in discussing further.

For Current AMC students

Are you currently studying at AMC?

If so, we'd love for you to register to join our "Anchors Aweigh" program we're running in 2025. We are asking current students to participate by having a Zoom with their former high school (assisted by AMC's Industry and Education Partnership Coordinator) to give them insight into studying at AMC from someone they know has trodden the same path.

There will also be more information about the Anchors Aweigh campaign from your Australian Maritime College Students' Association.
