Investigations into the motion response of a barge with swimming pool in waves

AMCS worked with Madsen Giersing to investigate the seakeeping performance of a barge with a swimming pool in waves.

Hydrodynamic scale model tests were conducted in AMC’s Model Test Basin using a 1:30 scale model manufactured in-house at AMC to meet ITTC standards.

AMCS consultants conducted 34 test runs investigating motion damping, regular waves and irregular waves at operational height with pool empty and pool full configurations.

Detailed results were provided to the client to support the development of their barge and validate numerical predictions, along with video and photographs.
