Security Awareness Training is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to contribute to maritime security through heightened awareness, the ability to recognise security threats, and appropriately respond.
This course is one of the components required to obtain an AMSA issued Certificate of Safety Training (STCW Reg VI/1), the mandatory minimum qualification required to serve on board vessels in international waters.
This course is delivered online through the University of Tasmania's learning management system, MyLO. The course requires a reasonable internet connection and a webcam to complete the assessment.
The following AMSA approved certificate will be issued* by AMC to participants who successfully complete the course:
*Please allow up to 5-7 days after completing the exam to receive the certificate. Certificates will be posted via Registered Post within and Australian and overseas. Additional charges are applicable if next day delivery is required.

MARF037 is a nationally recognised unit of competency under the Australian Maritime College (RTO ID 60131).
Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) as meeting the requirements laid down in the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW).
