This course will introduce you to the standard format and contents of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) formatted to the Global Harmonised System. It is intended to show you the structure that remains the same for all products that have an SDS, and where to find the appropriate information you may require. The SDS is a core source of information for dangerous cargoes that may be held on board.

This course has been designed as a refresher for seagoing personnel as well as for shore based personnel with an interest in Safety Data Sheets.

Learning Outcomes:Upon successful completion of this training, participants will:
1. Understand the purpose of an SDS.
2. Know the layout of the GHS compliant SDS.
3. Be able to find information on how to handle dangerous goods on board.
4. Know what safety information is contained with an SDS.

Assessment:An assessment will be provided at the end of the course (fully online). You will have unlimited attempts to achieve the 100% pass mark.
