Designed for Masters and Chief Mates who must hold a Certificate in Advanced Training for Ships Operating in Polar Waters, as required by the IMO's Polar Code.
Advanced Training for Ships Operating in Polar Waters is designed for Masters and Chief Mates on ships operating in polar waters who already hold an AMSA-approved certificate in Basic Training for Ships Operating in Polar Waters.
The course will be delivered by classroom theory sessions and practical sessions in the Ship Simulator at the Australian Maritime College. A variety of assessment methods are used in the course, appropriate to the learning outcome and the requirements of the national competency standards, including: Written assessment Group discussions and presentation Practical Simulation exercises.
