This course introduces the student to the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code. The course details how the code is made up and what information is provided within the code. The different classes contained within the IMDG code are also discussed. Students will have a baseline level of understanding of what the IMDG code is and how it works to ensure safety of dangerous cargoes on board vessels.

This course has been designed as a refresher for seagoing personnel as well as for shore based personnel with an interest to the IMDG Code.

Learning Outcomes:Upon successful completion of this training, participants will:
1. Understand the role of the IMDG code in managing dangerous cargo on board vessels.
2. Know the different classes assigned under the IMDG code.
3. Have knowledge of the separation and segregation requirements for dangerous goods.
4. Recognise the methods for labelling dangerous goods.
Assessment:An assessment will be provided at the end of the course (fully online), you will have unlimited attempts to achieve the 100% pass mark.
