IGF Code Advanced Training

Course also known as:LNG Fuelled, Low-Flashpoint Fuels

The International Code of Safety for Ships Using Gases or Other Low-Flashpoint Fuels (IGF Code) provides mandatory provisions for the arrangement, installation, control and monitoring of machinery, equipment and systems using low-flashpoint fuel to minimize the risk to the ship, its crew and the environment, having regard to the nature of the fuels involved.

Who should participate?

IGF Code - Advanced Training is for Masters, Deck, Engineer Officers and all personnel with immediate responsibility for the care and use of fuels and fuel systems on ships subject to the IGF Code. The IGF Code is the International Code of Safety for Ships using Gases or other Low-Flashpoint Fuels, as defined in SOLAS regulation II-1/2.29.

Course Entry Prerequisite

Please note the following prerequisite is for entry onto the course and evidence must be provided upon enrolment:

  • STCW Certificate of Competency for International Waters endorsed with Tanker Familiarisation; or 
  • STCW IGF Code Basic Training Certificate


The following certificate will be issued by AMC to participants who successfully complete* the course:

  • IGF Code Advanced Training (AMSA approved), meeting the requirements of STCW Reg V/3 and Code Section A-V/3 paragraph 2, Table A-V/3-2

*100% attendance, full participation and completion of all exercises is required.
