IGF Code Advanced Training

Course also known as:LNG Fuelled, Low-Flashpoint Fuels

The International Code of Safety for Ships Using Gases or Other Low-Flashpoint Fuels (IGF Code) provides mandatory provisions for the arrangement, installation, control and monitoring of machinery, equipment and systems using low-flashpoint fuel to minimize the risk to the ship, its crew and the environment, having regard to the nature of the fuels involved.

Who should participate?

IGF Code - Advanced Training is for Masters, Deck, Engineer Officers and all personnel with immediate responsibility for the care and use of fuels and fuel systems on ships subject to the IGF Code. The IGF Code is the International Code of Safety for Ships using Gases or other Low-Flashpoint Fuels, as defined in SOLAS regulation II-1/2.29.

Course Entry Prerequisites

Please note the prerequisite is for entry onto the course and evidence must be provided at enrolment point of the following:

  • Candidates must hold a STCW Certificate of Competency for International Waters endorsed with Tanker Familiarisation; or
  • Hold a certificate ‘Basic Training on Vessels to which the IGF Code applies’ in accordance with STCW Code section A-V/3-1.

Certification

The following certificate will be issued by AMC to participants who successfully complete the course:

  • Advanced Training on Vessels to which the IGF Code applies (AMSA approved) Certificate, meeting the requirements of STCW Reg l/8 and Sections A-I/8 and B-I/8

Full attendance and participation in ALL activities during the course will satisfy the required performance criteria.
