This course provides participants with a working overview of the Collision Regulations (COLREGS). It uses the learning process employed at the Australian Maritime College, which has been developed over years of training mariners of all levels.

Whether you are an experienced seafarer wishing to refresh your knowledge, or a new seafarer entering the industry, this program will assist you to understand each rule, when it is in force, and how it is applied.

During the program you will be introduced to the rules as you would use them when encountering another vessel, rather than in the strict order in which they are published.

This course has been designed for new seafarers, or as a refresher for current seafarers, with an interest to the Collision Regulations (COLREGS).

Learning Outcomes:Upon successful completion of this training, participants will:
1. Understand where, when, and to whom the rules apply.
2. Recognise a situation where a risk of collision exists.
3. Understand the responsibilities of vessels in a situation where a risk of collision exists.
4. Be able to determine which rules apply in differing situations.
5. Apply the rules to keep your vessel safe.
Assessment:An assessment will be provided at the end of the course (fully online), and you will have unlimited attempts to achieve the 100% pass mark.
