This course is designed to provide participants with a clear understanding of the operations when using Ammonia as fuel. Participants will understand the hazards, safety systems and bunkering operations of a vessel carrying Ammonia as fuel.

This course is designed for seafarers responsible for designated safety duties associated with the care, use, or emergency response for Ammonia used as fuel on board ships subject to the IGF Code.

Learning Outcomes:Upon successful completion of this training, participants will:
1.  Explain the chemical properties of ammonia that make it a viable marine fuel, including its zero-carbon emission potential and storage requirements.
2. Identify at least three significant advantages of using ammonia as a marine fuel and explain their environmental and economic impact.
3. Outline key operational risks associated with using ammonia as a marine fuel and propose controls to mitigate these risks.
4. Analyse the advantages and risks of using ammonia as a marine fuel, and understand why ammonia is a viable fuel alternative.
5. Describe proper safety protocols for handling and storing ammonia aboard marine vessels.

Assessment:An assessment will be provided at the end of the course (fully online). You will have unlimited attempts to achieve the 100% pass mark.
