Medical First Aid on Board Ship

Course also known as: Medical First Aid at Sea

AMSA-approved course that provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to react appropriately in an emergency situation where a casualty has been injured at sea or is acutely ill and to use those items of first aid equipment found in the ship’s medical outfit which are not included in the standard first aid kit.

Course Entry Prerequisite

Please note the following prerequisite is for entry onto the course and evidence must be provided upon enrolment:

  • STCW Elementary First Aid Certificate

Certification

The following certificate will be issued by AMC to participants who successfully complete* the course:

  • Medical First Aid on board Ship (AMSA approved), meeting the requirements of STCW Reg VI/4 and Code Section A-VI/4, Table A-VI/4-1

*100% attendance, full participation and completion of all exercises is required.
