Confined Space Entry for the Maritime Industry
Confined Space Entry (MARF010) is specifically designed to suit the maritime industry. It primarily focuses on the regulatory and legislative framework applicable to the high risk work environment of confined space operations. Knowledge and skill development is further supported through participants practically applying risk mitigation measures.
MARF010 is a nationally recognised unit under the Australian Maritime College (RTO ID 60131) and the training outcomes are listed on www.training.gov.au.
Who should participate?
The course is applicable to all individuals who work in this field.
Course Entry Prerequisite
Please note the prerequisite is for entry onto the course and evidence must be provided at enrolment point of the following:
- STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting; or
- Have undertaken training in Breathing Apparatus
Unique Student Identifier (USI)
As of 1 January 2015 students undertaking nationally recognised training are required to have a USI. To apply, please visit the USI website. You will be asked to provide your USI upon enrolment.

The following statement of attainment will be issued by AMC to participants who successfully complete the course:

MARF010 is a nationally recognised unit of competency under the Australian Martime College (RTO ID 60131).
Note: This outcome is only available to Australian residents.
100% attendance, full participation and completion of all practical exercises is required in order to successfully complete the course and qualify for the issue of the course Certificate.

AMCS Registration Terms
To secure your enrolment, payment of 50% of the course fee is required. Cancellations up to 15 working days prior to the scheduled date will be accepted without penalty. Cancellations less than 15 working days will be subject to 100% cancellation fee.
AMCS reserves the right to cancel the course if insufficient registrations have been received by seven days from commencement of course. Any fees paid for cancelled courses will be refunded in full.

The course is conducted at the Australian Maritime College, Newnham Campus in Launceston, Tasmania.
Participants arriving at Launceston Airport should make their way to the Australian Maritime College, Newnham Drive, Newnham. Taxi fare from the airport is approximately $55.00.
Parking: Complimentary car parking is provided on campus in areas designated to AMCS participants and clients.
