Safe Bulk Loading Practice: Face to face delivery
Certificate in Safe Bulk Loading is designed to be delivered at the Australian Maritime College, interstate or internationally. The course may also be tailored to suit specific client needs.
Certificate in Safe Bulk Loading meets the training requirements in the International Maritime Organisation’s Code of Practice for the Safe Loading and Unloading of Bulk Cargoes (the BLU Code). The IMO BLU Code was developed specifically to help reduce the number of accidents caused by improper loading and discharging.
Participants will develop an in-depth understanding of how bulk carriers are affected by overstressing and will learn how to load and unload vessels safely. The course explains all operational terminology and covers all other safety regulations that a bulk carrier must comply with.
Option 1: Offered in 2 parts, Self-paced study by Distance Education with assignment, followed by a 2-day onsite workshop.
Option 2: Conducted onsite over 3 days incorporating the assignment and workshop. In 2018, option 2 is scheduled to be conducted at the AMC Sydney Study Centre.

AMCS Registration Terms
To secure your enrolment, payment of 50% of the course fee is required. Cancellations up to 15 working days prior to the scheduled date will be accepted without penalty. Cancellations less than 15 working days will be subject to 100% cancellation fee.
AMCS reserves the right to cancel the course if insufficient registrations have been received by seven days from commencement of course. Any fees paid for cancelled courses will be refunded in full.

This course meets the training requirements of the IMO Code of Practice for the Safe Loading and Unloading of Bulk Carriers. The course is designed for terminal supervisors and line managers as well as operational and other staff from related organisations.
Successful participants who have completed the assignment and workshop, and achieve a minimum 70% pass mark in the examination; will be awarded an AMC Certificate in Safe Bulk Loading Practice.

Where courses are scheduled at the Australian Maritime College (AMC), the course will be conducted at the Newnham Campus in Launceston Tasmania
Participants arriving at Launceston Airport should make their way to the Australian Maritime College, Newnham Drive, Newnham. Taxi fare from the airport is approximately $55.00.
Parking: Complimentary car parking is provided on campus in areas designated to AMCS participants and clients.
