Safe Bulk Loading Practice: Online

The online Certificate in Safe Bulk Loading Practice is designed to help terminal and vessel staff load bulk carriers safely, reducing the risk of accidents in port and at sea.

Safe Bulk Loading meets the training requirements in the International Maritime Organisation’s Code of Practice for the Safe Loading and Unloading of Bulk Cargoes (the BLU Code). The IMO BLU Code was developed specifically to help reduce the number of accidents caused by improper loading and discharging.

Course participants anywhere in the world can complete the course at their own pace and gain an Australian Maritime College approved Certificate in Safe Bulk Loading.

Students will develop an in-depth understanding of how bulk carriers are affected by overstressing and will learn how to load and unload vessels safely. The course explains all operational terminology and covers all other safety regulations that a bulk carrier must comply with.
