As she has done for several years, AMC Search's training launch Pinduro hosted the Governor of Tasmania and the official party at the start of the 2007 Three Peaks Race on Good Friday, 6 April.
His Excellency, the Honourable William Cox, AC, RDF, ED, had the best seat in the house to observe thirteen yachts battle for best position at the starting line of Australia's premier short-handed sailing endurance mountain running race.
Starting from Beauty Point near AMC's wharf and seamanship training centre, the yachts race to Flinders Island, and then on to Coles Bay before finishing at Hobart.
At the end of the three destinations two crew members from each yacht must run between 33 to 65 kms over mountains ranging from 620 metres to 1270 metres in height. You don't have to be mad but it helps!
First conducted in 1989, the Three Peaks Race is a major event on the Tasmanian annual sporting calendar, and AMC Search is proud to assist the organizers each year and to be a part of this wonderful occasion for the Tasmanian community.
