AMC Search's Vessel Operations Simulator (VOS) was on display recently at a trade exhibition held in conjunction with the APEC Transport Minister's Forum held in Adelaide on 25 - 27 March, 2007.

VOS is a high level TRANSAS marine simulator which can be used for both maritime training, and port design and development simulation studies. It has some 15 ports and seaway area models and 30 ship models, and day and night-time visuals switchable through 360°. VOS is readily transportable, and has, for example, been used in client premises in Perth and Kuala Lumpur for new port design studies.

AMC Search is currently upgrading VOS with the latest TRANSAS software, and the addition of two more visual channels providing a 120° horizontal field of view (still switchable through 360°). For more information on VOS, contact Nic Bender at N.Bender@amc.edu.au
