AMC Search's Vessel Operations Simulator (VOS) is off to a flying start in 2006 with 2 studies completed in January. Both projects were to conduct Marine Traffic and Risk Analysis for new berths at Tanjung Bin, Johore, located on the southern point of Western Malaysia and Kunak on the East coast of Sabah.
Kunak - Area Model
The focus of both studies was to:
- develop and determine safe and effective navigational and berthing operational procedures

investigate and determine operational and manoeuvring requirements and constraints of ships
intending to berth/unberth at the proposed berth(s)

to investigate and determine the environmental constraints of ships berthing/unberthing at the
proposed berth(s)

to evaluate and determine the appropriate bollard pull of tugs

to evaluate and determine measures considered necessary for reduction of operational risk such
as the placement of lights
and buoys etc.
