Ship Stability

AMC Search has published two maritime training books to assist students in understanding the theory behind ship stability and dynamics.

The books are authored by senior AMC lecturer Captain John Milward. Capt Milward has decades of seagoing and teaching experience to draw upon and is eminently qualified to produce such a resource.

The topic is covered in two books. Book 1 is designed for Deck Watchkeepers and Book 2 is intended for use by Mates and Masters. Both books are a teaching tool in preparation for an examination to acquire a Certificate of Competency, and as a source of reference for mariners to assist with their duties of safely operating vessels.

Ship Stability Books

The Pocket Book of Training

This resource describes how to design, write, conduct and evaluate training courses.

Basic communication principles and Adult Learning theory are also covered, as well as a small debate concerning “competency based education”.

This small book is designed to be a light hearted companion for people learning the trade, and adult and general education practitioners interested in another practitioner’s point of view.

The author (Russell MacAndrew) does not present himself as an expert on the subject, but rather a practitioner eager to share knowledge and experiences gained over many years of practice and perhaps to encourage a little excited debate about adult and general education.

Russell has a management background and teaches many diverse management subjects, interpersonal communication and education. He also has qualifications in: science, administration and management, and adult and general education.

Pricing

$14.95 (including postage within Australia).
