Ship Hydrodynamics

The Australian Maritime College has a wide range of world class ship hydrodynamic facilities. In addition to providing first class training opportunities for the students of the AMC these facilities are also available through AMC Search for commercial use by the Australian and international maritime industries.

Late in 2002, as part of the Commonwealth Government’s Major National Research Facilities Program, the Australian Maritime Hydrodynamics Research Centre (AMHRC) was established as a collaborative research organisation by the:

  • Australian Maritime College (AMC)
  • Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO)
  • University of Tasmania (UTAS)

The use of the AMC’s hydrodynamic facilities form part of the contribution by the AMC to the AMHRC. The AMHRC has a web site that provides details of the services that they can offer.

Commercial work conducted by the AMHRC is managed by AMC Search.
