Course Prerequisites

STCW78 as amended Certificate of Competency, N56 1050 Electronic Navigation, or N57 1515 Bridging Advanced Navigation, or equivalent module. One-day training on GPS, DGPS and electronic charts for candidates who do not comply with the above pre-requisites

Course Aim

The ECDIS (General Operator’s Course) has been developed to provide trainees with general skills in the safe practical operation of an ECDIS for navigation. This ECDIS course is AMSA approved and satisfies Marine Orders, Part 21, provision 16.3(b).

Certificate

Upon successful completion, candidates will be issued:

AMSA approved AMC Certificate meeting the requirements of Table A-II/1 and A-II/2, STCW78 as amended
