Course Duration
5 daysCourse Aim
To provide the basic theoretical and practical knowledge in accordance with phase one of the Nautical Institute DPO training scheme. Upon completion of the Basic course, the candidate completes a minimum of 30 days* operational familiarisation onboard a DP vessel, which is documented in their logbook. *30 days is the minimum requirement, however additional sea time is an advantage when undertaking the Advanced course.
Certificate
Upon successful completion, candidates will be issued with an AMC Dynamic Positioning – Basic Certificate which is approved by the Nautical Institute.
Candidates must attend both Basic and Advanced DP courses and meet the Nautical Institute’s DP operator sea time experience in order to become certified DP operators. Details are available on the Institute’s website: www.nautinst.org
